Re: Guitar, anyone?
Best instrument ever.
Well only because it is the only one I can play...besides the triangle.
I have been playing for hmm... 4 years now I think.
I own a Fender telecaster deluxe called Bootsey.
She is my lover.

Re: Guitar, anyone?
I feel the need to be congratulated, because I had a serious practice session for the first time in over a year.
I missed guitar
a lot
And bah you people with your acoustic skills. My fingers are too weak, after spending this long not playing.
But liam fuck, have you learned that one you linked me to yet?
Because I seriously want to see James' face when you play it. He'll fucking cry.
Oh and guys, I just gotta tell you that we generally use as little chatspeak as possible here -shrug- nothing personal obviously, just little things like capitalisation, 'you' vs 'u' etc. It is a writing forum, after all

My Uncle plays percussion in a side project of his. John lives in Agnus st in Freemantle, a place full of hippies. I went to a quilt festival there to see them play. He did it from his balcony lol.

Re: Guitar, anyone?
I've been playing for just over two years!
Go me, but I was taught to play acoustic.
I think I'm good.
I taught myself to play electric, I try at that.
I even play guitar in a band with Mikey. : D

I would kill to have a Gretsch guitar.
My god. Those guitars are pieces of art. ._.
... too bad the Chris Cheney guitar costs six and a half thousand dollars.
-_-

Re: Guitar, anyone?
yeah Gretsch's are awesome, but I hate Chris Cheney.
dont know why, I just think, the whole band use to be good but now there kinda sell outs, like there musics on every TV episode of every show, on every, "what do you believe" shitty channel 10 ad, every half time montage during a footy broadcast. I use to love them but now I just think that they're not in it to make good music as much as they are to make money.

Four years now
And I still can't solo.
Anyone been to GAK (Guitar, Amps, Keyboard Center? ) in Brighton? They have some sweet things to help you improve there. I want their lime green Gibson
It's different

Re: Guitar, anyone?
I play guitar as well. 4 years and counting.
I've got an acoustic. I can't afford anything else at the moment, but honestly? I love my guitar. Nothing can ever replace your first guitar.
I pretty much only play acoustic music, but i do practice my picking on it because picking sounds way better on acoustics than on electrics. A richer sound, I think.

Re: Guitar, anyone?
Agreed ^ Though I think that electric can help me with my attempts at writing more (wider range of notes than my acoustic, etc) and I can add more ornaments into the music, the acoustic does have a nicer sound.

Re: Guitar, anyone?
I've been playing guitar for NINE WHOLE DAYS!
I love it...I've wanted to play forever, but my little brother got lessons instead. And then he decided to quit guitar...and shortly after that he broke his wrist.
So yes...I am now the proud owner of a 3/4 size acoustic (stupid tiny little thing, but I still love it). I have one lesson a week with a celtic guitar master...he's a really cool guy.
Most of the time I just spend hours teaching myself songs though.

Re: Guitar, anyone?
I've fallen down on my guitar, so bad. My teacher is like, "liz...you kinda suck!" and I fully agree, atm. I despise my classical, though, and would kill for an acoustic. I'm doing my first performance next week, for music. (:
