Yesterday, on Valentines Day, my 70 year old nona (grandmother) got married for the second time in her life to her long time friend and short time lover John.
The wedding and reception was held on a dolphin cruise boat, with food and alcohol being served like, non stop.
It was nice to catch up with all our relatives, and all nonas friends who I grew up around, when I lived with her. It was so cool. They all made the same comments "Wow, you are so biiig!" or "You look just like David" (my dad) or even "I didn't recognise you last time I saw you you were this small!" (indicating a miniscule height with their hands above the floor)
It was also, I dont know, cool I guess, to have them speak to me in Italian, or Croatian. I know hardly any of it, but they all greeted me, and then asked how I was, in languages other than English. I felt rather smart (:
On the topic of other languages, I have decided that aswel as political journalism, I am going to study French at University. I did a year of it in year 7, and if I may say so myself, I have a flair for language. I can still have short conversations with people in French, and I can remember almost everything I learnt. I love French, its probably my favourite language, next to English

Swimming carnival on Tuesday, I cant wait, I am in Lennon and our house colour is green so a bunch of us are going as ninja turtles (:

OMG... I'm in green and I went as a Ninja Turtle for my swimming carnival

I sucked at it, all I could remember was stuff about animals so I always failed our writing exams because I wrote about animals instead of the chosen topic
I would love to be able to speak, even though I sucked I still think it's a beautiful language.
