GLEE

Post by LADIES AND GENTLEMEN on Thu 24 Sep 2009, 10:36 am

I've already mentioned I immense love for this show, I'm sure (: I want to marry Kurt (or Chris, either way) and I think Emma is the cutest thing ever. It's something really special to me, because I've always dreamed of being involved in musical theatre but never been good enough.

Anyway, Glee tells the story of McKinney High and it's underdog Glee (musical theatre) club. Teacher Mr Schuster, who was the star of Glee club in his hey-day, decides to return to the now socially ostracized club, to take over from their ridiculously closeted ex-teacher. Desperate for a male lead, he frames Finn, captain of the football team, and whilst blackmailing him into joining the club, manages to tap into his inner gleek. Not only does Schuster have to deal with the eclectic, awkward and ridiculously individual gleeks, have to wage a constant war with the schools cheerleaders, the "cheerios", and their wizened hag of a coach Sue Sullivan, and fight his feelings for his obsessive compulsive coworker Emma, but his ridiculously demanding wife Terri is on his back to work harder, earn more, and commit to a family life.

I love that this show focuses not just on the glee club kids, but explores the equally dramatic dynamics between the adult cast. it's silly, it's dramatic, and it's cliche, but it's meant to be. cliche is the embodiment of glee, and this show is presented almost as if it were a glee club production - which, with most of the stars' musical theatre backgrounds, isn't too far off.

In my opinion, it is amazing, and I think it'll be hugely popular not only because of how hard the TV stations are whoring it right now, but because there's a little bit of gleek in most all of us, and it's a way of living that dream through funny, likable and perfectly imperfect characters.

SO DISCUSS GLEE AND ITS WONDER.

It's also available on uTorrent, if you feel like you're going to be watching each episode like 65432 times and dont want to destroy your bandwidth (: that's what I did.

Oooh...I might have to go watch this online.

I have heard nothing but good things about it, but I seem to forget to watch every time it is on TV.

I'm going to have to spend a night this week watching online.

Perhaps I'll check it out.

Ahaha I knew that :D the guys at my work will be shitting brix when they find out. they are absolutely nuts about her.

PS - I FINALLY found a way to watch the interview in which Chris Colfer (who plays Kurt Hummel) talks about being gay :'D it's so funny, the interviewer is like "and was it a similar experience for you?" and he looks SO shocked. its like '...sweetie, you can tell you love the cock from miles away. why are you so surprised?'

Glee is basically the story of my life. Just switch Glee club to musical club, and there you go.

It's a refreshing show. I like it a lot.
