What do you mean when you say horror stories of Mercy Ministries and the connection to TWLOHA? I've just never heard anything about that.

TWLOHA fund a bunch of groups, one of which being Mercy Ministries. it's a hardcore religious group who believe in god saving girls from mental illness.
While I have no problem with that, I DO have a problem witht he fact that Mercy claims to have a full team of qualified GPs, psychologists and psychiatrists on board, when in actual fact, they have religious workers with NO qualifications who tell the girls god doesn't want them to be sick and if they aren't getting better it's because they don't care enough about God. If they make friends, they accuse them of lesbianism. if they break even the smallest rules, they can get cut off from the rest of the group completely.
They have to leave their jobs and cut off all contact with the outside world and go live in a small commune with a bunch of other girls. they're not allowed to talk about or acknowledge their problems. Mercy takes their government benefits and gives them back practically nothing (in australia its $200 a week and they recieve $30 for all the things they need. which isn't really enough.)
they pretty much take these girls' faith and use it to control them and it's so, so wrong.
