Project Northern Downpour
Okay
The video can be found here.
And here is the idea I had for doing our own version.
We need to work out who's involved before we can really start allocating parts.
So, so far people who can defnitely do it:
Mikey
Rita
Jenna Droid
Marlee
Hailey
Mhairi
Jenna Beckett (you know it's true)
Paula
Zero
Jack
Andy/her friends 'on call' if we need Special effects done.
So post here if you want to be involved
There's no deadline thus far but that may change.
So post and get yourselves involved ASAP so we can do this, k?
Now, obviously there are some things in the video we can't do, and some we might not want to.
So this is also a place to brainstorm creative ideas to make the video not just a repro, but our own.
And hopefully we can eventually send it to Ryan via We're So Blogging; that would be amazing.
So. Post away

If anyone also knows how to hxc video edit to put that stuff we can't do in, that'd be helpful too x_x
Like, I can video edit, and I'm sure a few other people can too, but all I can use is Windows Movie Maker. >_<

Re: Project Northern Downpour
I would love to do this. I could gather up my friend with a video camera. I'm already thinking of an idea with post it notes.
If I could do this with you guys. Unless you're all like "No you're lame.
"
which I would completely understand.

Jeeze.
Sweet, okay. Gather friends, too; they don't have to post here obvs (unless they want to join, hint hint) but it'd be awesome to get them imvolved too.

Re: Project Northern Downpour
I'm recruiting my friend Sara. She sadly isn't a rev because she wouldn't get our ~osmness.
She's the biggest PatD fan this side of the Pacific.

Dang.
Ah well. I'm gonna go to staples, get some post-its, and put random lyrics on it, and stick it on my dad's car.
Yes, they will all be NDP lyrics.

Whatever Mikey.
Good plan.
Otherwise, we'd be running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

Re: Project Northern Downpour
Awesome, six people :D
As I said, feel free to ask around IRL as well.
If you don't have a video camera, best bet is to ask around. Cell phone video cameras are still good, as long as they're reasonable resolution.
If none of that works - do you have a laptop? Does said laptop have a built in webcam? Do you have a webcam that you could attatch to someone else's laptop? Could you use that?
If it's absolutely impossible, I would suggest stop motion; that could actually be quite awesome.
Okay now tell me I'm not insane but I DESPERATELY want to ACTUALLY PAINT a freeway. I reckon I could get away with it if it was like 3 am.
But IDK. You guys reckon?

Re: Project Northern Downpour
New post for this purely because it is long.
Okay, so obviously panic have their own idea behind their clip, and this is inspired by theirs, not copying, right? So lets do ours.
So this is my idea.
Northern Downpour is being played by a little indie band who are busking on the street.
It shows a number of different 'days' worth of them playing (I figure we can do this by making the 'band' change clothes).
Each time they play in public, more people come along and give them money, watch, etc.
Maybe people who don't look like they'd 'appreciate' the music could pass by a couple of times, and realise that they like it. Businessmen or women could slow and watch and smile, etc.
I was especially struck by the idea of, on the first day, a couple watching, holding hands. Then maybe each day there's another couple. It can be boys, girls, young and old, just the general idea of love.
I figure it'll end with the 'never yawn' scene - but instead of it being dug into the ground, it'll be spelt out by a crowd of smiling people applauding the performers.
And, in the places all you guys are around the world, we can have you doing your own ~thing with the lyrics. (Because I figured me and a few friends would do the 'band' scene, seeing as I'm coordinating it.)
We can disperse these clips between the different 'days' that the band is playing the song.
So it kind of shows how the music has managed to affect so many people so deeply, from random passers by on the street to people who are actual fans of the band.
I mean, obviously it's just an idea, and I don't want to steal the spotlight or boss anyone around (because apparently I have a habit of doing that without realising >_< sorry if I ever have) but I just got hit with the idea and really liked it.
So what do you think?
